Spring (March – May)
Spring is when pest activity explodes. Watch for: ants (carpenter and pavement ants emerge), mice (overwintering mice become active and breed), cockroaches (populations peak), and spiders (increase as prey becomes abundant). Seal your home's exterior before spring.
Summer (June – August)
Peak pest season. Watch for: wasps and hornets (nests grow rapidly, reaching thousands by August), bed bugs (spread through summer travel), ants (peak activity), and fleas and ticks (especially in homes with pets). Check for wasp nests monthly.
Fall (September – November)
The most critical season for rodent prevention. As temperatures drop, mice and rats actively seek entry points into homes. October and November are peak months for rodent calls in the GTA. Walk your home's exterior and seal any gap larger than 6mm.
Winter (December – February)
Indoor pests remain active year-round. Watch for: mice (fully established and breeding indoors), cockroaches (thrive in warm indoor environments), and bed bugs (completely unaffected by cold, active year-round). Store dry goods in sealed containers and check for mouse activity monthly.
